I should have plenty of ideas if that is the case because the fat sure isn't "melting away." Of course I don't really expect to wake up and be 20 lbs lighter...well maybe I did.
I was weighing myself EVERY morning. My new morning ritual is, get up, go pee and get right on the scale. This was my motivation all week. Come Friday I was down 6.8 lbs. This morning I had gained 1.2 lbs which was a big disappointment. Then I got thinking. I have been walking/running for a week. That could be 1.2 lbs of muscle I have adopted:) Clearly I need to stop getting on the scale EVERY morning because as much of a motivation as it CAN be it can also be the opposite. Once a week would be fine. I wish I wasn't so addicted to my scale, otherwise I would just weigh in after every 17 days.
As for feeling better, I definitely do. I am not so bloated or tired. I don't feel any smaller but hopefully soon that will come. I never thought I would be dragging myself out of bed to go walking but these last couple mornings that is exactly what I have been doing. My shins are SO sore and my toes are blistered so I must be doing something right. I definitely need new sneakers. I have Nike Shox and the toes are too narrow to run in. I am trying to follow Jillian Michael's running plan which she claims will train me for a 5K in 8 weeks. I am thinking I should be ready for a 5K in about 3 years. I have to be honest, I don't understand these people who actually like running. It's not fun to me. It hurts, my chest feels like it is on fire and it is just plain boring. Zumba was the best/ funnest workout I have ever done and I have to get back into it! (I MISS YOU LINDA!!) I do have the Zumba game for the X-Box Kinect but haven't really played too much, it isn't the same as being in a class. Prince Charming doesn't understand why I won't "Zumba" in the livingroom if he is there but yet can do it in front of 50 other people. I guess it is because the 50 other people look as crazy as me ;)
Anyway, the 1st week hasn't been as bad as I thought it might be. I will leave you with a few things I have learned in the past week:
- Asparagus makes your pee stink
- Green Tea isn't really that bad
- I can drink coffee black (if I have to) The new Hazelnut Splenda is quite yummy!
- "Okra" is the name of a vegetable. (I am making a soup today with that in it, I will let you know how it tastes)
- I LOVE eggplant
- I need new sneakers
- I am/was addicted to food
- I am (was?) an emotional eater
- I really did not know what willpower was until this last week.
