On Tuesday Sept 27th I started feeling like I was coming down with a bug. By Tuesday night I had a fever and really bad pains in my belly. By 2 AM Wednesday morning my fever was crazy high and I was in so much pain. From what I understand from my sister and my hubby I was pretty "out of it." After many failed attempts to get me off the bed (in between puking & passing out) the ambulance was called. I had an ultrasound within minutes of being at the hospital and a cyst was found on my left ovary. The Dr. said it appeared to have ruptured as there looked to be bleeding around it but he said "nature was taking it's course." After some IV fluid and some good pain meds I was sent home. I felt better throughout Wednesday but I woke up around midnight with another high fever...took Advil and went back to bed. By 6 AM Thursday morning my head hurt SO bad I could not lift my head off of my pillow. I tend to be a hypochondriac so I was convinced I had an aneurysm or something of the sort. I NEVER get migraines and this was scary. Because I had not been to the hospital for so long (HA) Mom brought me back to the ER and I was admitted for 1 week.
Apparently it all started with a virus. Friday night I was told by a specialist if my fever did not break by the next morning I was going to be in for a spinal tap. Thankfully it broke and there was no need for one! (Again, I say THANKFULLY!!)
The pain specialist said that he feels at some point in my life I injured my neck and basically this virus aggravated it. He gave me a shot in the neck and I was on my way to recovery :) So basically this was my last week in a nutshell. It felt SO nice to come home on Thursday! The boys (especially Parker!) were so happy to see me!
Now I am getting used to cooking, cleaning and not sleeping all day :)
