Yummylicious Danishes

I got this recipe from a cousin of mine and thanks to her I have probably put on 40 lbs since haha

Multipurpose Mix
10 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup baking powder
1 tbsp salt
2 cups vegetable shortening

In large pot/bowl/whatever you want to use....
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder & salt, mix well.
With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut shortening into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Store in airtight container in cool, dry place for up to 3 months. Makes 13 cups.

Easy Drop Danish
2 cups multipurpose mix
1/4 cup soft margarine
2 tbsp sugar
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup jam (I don't measure this out, I just spoon some into the cookies)

Grease cookie sheet lightly (I use parchment paper)
Mix margarine, sugar & mix until crumbly.
Stir in milk until dough forms.
Beat 15 strokes. (I don't really count the strokes lol)
Drop by rounded spoonful about 2" apart.
Make shallow well & fill with your favorite jam.
Bake at 450 for 10-15 minutes. (I bake mine for 11 minutes)
Cool completely & then drizzle with glaze.

Glaze
2/3 cup icing sugar
1 tbsp warm water
1/4 tsp vanilla

Mix until smooth

YUMMY!!!
