1 lb kidney beans
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
2 tsp dry mustard
2 tsp salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1-2 tsp vinegar (I like my beans a little sour so I put the full 2)
4 cups of water (I only put 2!)
Soak beans overnight
Boil beans for about 45 minutes. When you can "blow the skin off" the beans are ready.
Dump beans in slow cooker, mix all the ingredients and pour over top. Give a little stir, turn slow cooker on high and forget about them for about 7-8 hours :)
Maybe next week's recipe will be brown bread ;) |
