I think I am about ready to kick this fat in the butt.....or to kick it off mine anyway...
My 17 Day Diet book arrived yesterday. (If you haven't heard of it you can check it out HERE.)
I was flipping through last night but I haven't really sat down and read through it yet. Prince Charming and I gave in to "The Big Bang Theory" craze last night. We watched the 1st 4 episodes of season 1 and I am pretty sure we are both hooked. Needless to say, that took providence over my new book ;)
I am guessing it will take me 17 days (or more) just to read the book as I can tell it won't be a book "that I can't put down." I think it will be more of a book I try to find excuses to "put down." I feel like until I am done the book I can enjoy eating what I want to eat. Might as well gain another 20 lbs before I start.
Mom and Pops have been on it for over a month. In 5 weeks Mom was down 14 lbs, Pops 16. My goal is to lose 30 lbs by July.
Prince Charming & I are invited to a wedding in the city on July 23rd and if I cannot fit in a slinky dress, I am not going. Nor will I celebrate my 30th birthday July 29th. Nor will I be seen on the beach in anything less than a snowsuit. Basically, for my children's sake I HAVE to lose this weight. I don't really think they would appreciate staying inside all summer long.
So there ya have it. I will be posting (when I start) my success (or failure). Stay tuned!!

Diets suck!... just eat when you are hungry and don't eat when you are not. Don't deprive yourself of a treat cause it will make you want it more. Just don't go overboard. Knowing that you are not not allowing yourself something will majorly decrease the amount you need in the first place to snuff the craving!
That is my newest way of going at it and it seems to work ok.
But hey, if you want to be on a diet go for it! Wish you the best of luck! Kick some major poundage butt! Thought I would share my secrets anyways!
I agree, diets do suck. Even when I heard alot of the talk about this diet I was like "not another 1!" UNTIL I seen Mr. Anti diet himself Dr. Phil, the Doctors AND Dr Oz all talking about this one. It's not really a diet as much as a change in lifestyle. The 1st 17 days are going to suck because it is a detox....but after you reach your goal weight you eat good through the week and the weekend you can eat what you want (IN MODERATION)
Apparently with this "diet" it resets your metabolism....and God knows I need that lol
I'm doing the Beachbody Insanity workout and am following the meal plan (not religiously though). Basically it works so that your metabolism keeps going and going, night and day, and to supply your body with enough calories and nutrients and protein to do the Insanity workout everyday. I'm into my week 3 (where the results begin to show), so we shall see in a few weeks if this food thing (and workout) works ;) Good luck!
